Now that the Most Wonderful Time of the Year is upon us, we can reflect on our most wonderful year so far. 2016 was the year of great change and growth this year at Made In.  So many wonderful things happened that it’s hard to put it all in one blog post, but I will try....

New Life

We welcomed two new lives into the world, Miss Faye Johnson and Miss Luna Vaca. We are so happy that they are here!

Love and Marriage

Many weddings for our staff this year. Congratulations to Emilija & Josh Saxe, Kevin & Jessica Grosch and Kevin & Carmen McCreary!

Graduating

Several of our hard working interns graduated from college...we even hired one to work for us.  Glad to have you, Kristoff!

New Faces

This year alone, we’ve hired 9 new people (including your author.)  We’re so glad to have Rachel, Ashley, Bradley, Marshall, Katie, Kristoff, Lindsay, and Bree on our team!  I started in January, so this marks almost a year for me at Made In Network.

New Friends (of the animal persuasion)

Goldie, Dottie and Gilda joined our households...which made 2016 the year of crates, clicks, treats, and lots of patience. In spite of all that, we’re glad to have them around. Dogs make a house a home.

New Homes

Speaking of homes, everyone bought a house...well, not everyone, but our team bought at least 5 houses this year. (You can thank us later, Nashville Real Estate Association.)

Surviving

Our dear co-worker Bree suffered cardiac arrest in November, which just about gave us all a heart attack. Luckily, she survived, and due to that pluck, she went from intern to part-time employee.

In all seriousness, quick thinking by the person that was with her saved her life. Learn more about the signs and symptoms of a cardiac arrest here. The Red Cross offers CPR and Emergency First Aid classes all around the country. Creative and Professional accomplishments

There are almost too many to list….

Don VanCleave had his very first public art show at the Rymer Gallery

Kevin McCreary continues to reign with his YouTube channel Say Goodnight, Kevin.

Brad Cash launched a new channel, Pseudo Cinema.

We won a NEXT Award for Digital Media and Entertainment Startup. Thank you, Nashville Chamber of Commerce and the Nashville Entrepreneur Center for the recognition.

...and I am sure my colleagues will remind me of more after I post this!

Many people have proclaimed 2016 as "the worst year ever."  I wrote this blog post to remind us all to take a moment during the holiday season to look to our left and right, not front or behind, and be grateful. Find strength and joy through the accomplishments of the people by your side every day, support them in their personal and professional endeavors, and the goodness will flow. If you're feeling doubtful about this walking into 2017, go back to the top and start reading again.

On behalf of our Made In Family, Happy Holidays to you all.  We're looking forward to sharing more great moments with you in 2017.
